Slowpoke
A lovely unpretentious café. The coffee is nice and smooth, the food simple and tasty, and the staff friendly and attentive. An excellent place to sit and watch the Brunswick St world go by.
Lovely, light and airy little café serving up some well made espresso and a small menu of delicious breakfast and lunch food. I hear the caramel slice is to die for.
Coffee in Melbourne now has a definite upper echelon, into which Seven Seeds, Brother Baba, De Clieu, Market Lane etc. fall. And then there are cafes doing good espresso coffee without the Seriousness. Slowpoke is a new entrant in the latter class: it’s a lovely, cosy, sunny cafe, the coffee (Coffee Supreme beans) is made very well, the people are nice, and the food is excellent too – I like the smashed avocado and feta on De Chirico bread.
