Beyond Q Café
A fantastic, sprawling second-hand bookstore in the basement level of the Curtin shops. Better still, they have a small café space where you can also find a bit of live music on the weekends. I’ve been here five or six times at least and the coffee has always been quite reasonable. Worth checking out.
This is a really nice coffee shop, I highly recommend a visit, great coffee.
It’s a rare treat to have a bookshop/café combo right next door. Atmosphere and service is great and they make a decent long black. Barely any phone reception either so people are actually talking to each other instead of burying themselves in a screen.
I was slightly concerned that the planned redevelopment of the Curtin shops would close the café down but the staff assured me that they will be open for the foreseeable future.

My local, and the cappuccino is consistently good. Rounded flavour courtesy of Cosmorex beans & they really know their microfoam. A shout-out for the pastries too! Takeaway not so good, so try not to do that. Service can be slow if there’s a crowd.
