The Quarter
It was Melbourne Cup Day, so perhaps their attention was elsewhere, but somehow they managed to serve me a croissant that was simultaneously stale, cold and burnt. The coffee didn’t fare much better: tepid, burnt and rather tasteless. I didn’t even finish the cup.
Located on Degraves Street, this Paris themed cafe has rather decent coffee and food. I have found the coffee to be a bit strong, but not necessarily bitter. I have had a couple semi-burnt cups in the past; however, if you like your brew a bit stronger or need a little extra kick to wake you up in the morning this is your place!
A quaint Paris themed cafe that’s part of the cluster of cafes spilling out into the alley. Had an affogatto, or at least I think I did because it didn’t last long..

The staff are pleasant and they make a good flat white. It’s sometimes busy but not crowded, and the added kiosk counter for coffee/snacks on the side makes ordering faster and easier.

Great long black. I work round the corner, and have tried most of the cafes along DeGraves St/Centre Place. Centro is my pick to grab a good, reliably brewed takeaway coffee on the back way to the office.
