Red Brick
I really support small business like this one and it’s become very popular very quickly. Why? The guys who own/run the joint are trying hard to do a good job and it shows. Even better for us, it’s our local. It’s about time someone set up something good in this location because it really needed it. This little cafe adds life to what are still fairly drab local shops. RBE has a fairly limited menu, with little flexibility because of their facilities, however, you don’t mind because what they produce is very, very good. We’ve had breakfast and lunch here, as well as just coffees. They make an excellent egg and olive tapenade toasted roll. Deluxe. It’s still unsigned, but you can’t miss it from the main drag. Well worth a visit
Met our usual companions plus one and while we all found our usual flat white mugs and a mugachino plus a latte pleasant and smooth to the taste they were all of insufficient temperature.
Great cafe ambience & a well-made cappuccino. I reserved judgement on the default grind (Seven Seeds’ El Gordo) as it seemed a bit one-dimensional for a latte/FW/cappuccino. It turns out the Chompy grind also on offer at my last visit renders a superior cappuccino!
It was a long time coming, but there is finally a good café at Curtin’s quaint local shops. I was anticipating this so much I might of accidentally their first ever coffee.
The coffee is outstanding and their sweats are annoyingly delicious (not #paleo). The café itself is very cosy and should be a great spot in winter with the northern aspect. Five stars.
Great long black, best I’ve had in Canberra for a while. Nice spot too.
New café at Curtin Shops from the owner of Beppe’s at Belconnen Markets. A mix of customers makes for a nice feel. Simple, low key fit out, the highlight of which is the large cast in situ concrete bench top where all the action takes place. Which brings us to the coffee: excellent, consistent results (have been a few times) with delicious long black on each visit.
