Single Origin
Excellent. I usually get a second cup! At last a cafe where I don’t need to ask for an extra shot. Shame that when you order take away, it just doesn’t have the same flavour.
Frankly I think this place is overrated. Everyone raves about the coffee, and it is good. But, I’ve never actually enjoyed drinking a coffee here as it’s way too busy and the staff have been pretty rude.
They’ve just renovated and I probably need to try it again on a quiet day, but honestly I really can’t be bothered.
My first time here, and I was slightly overwhelmed by the amount of different coffees available and the brewing options ‘inhouse’. So I asked the barista to surprise me, as I figured that the barista would know his coffee best.
Well surprise me he did, the (‘inhouse’) barista pour me two excellent shots using the espresso machine in the café area. First up was a ristretto made from Columbian beans. It was an exceptional cup, really smooth in the mouth, but still had all the delicate and strong flavours intact, overall, it had quite a nice after taste and feel in the mouth.
Second up was a Piccolo Latté, made with the Guatemala Huehuetenango (roast of the week 7/2/11) once again, a smooth cup, this was actually the first time I’d had a piccolo latté, and I have to say, it left a very good impression.
As with any decent Café / Espresso bar, there was complimentary water to fresh / cleanse your palette after each coffee; and the wait-staff were great.
I love this place! I used to go there all the time, when I lived nearby. Sadly though, they aren’t open on weekends, so I never get to visit anymore. :-(
One of my favourite cafés in Sydney. The coffee is consistently good, so good I always order a second. The menu (poached eggs with field mushrooms, yum!) is well-priced and the corner spot on a quiet street in the city adds a layer of cosiness to the overall experience.
It’s very popular so arrive way before or after lunchtime if you’re planning to stay for a while.
Great coffee, but the ambiance of the loading dock they seat people in when busy is a little lacking. Be sure to ask for the single origin coffee.
Spectacular coffee - Single Origin is a gem. Can be a relatively long wait for a coffee during peak times, but well worth it for the quality. The five stars are for the coffee.
While the food is good, we’ve had some spectacularly bad service that means if we want food, we go to Toast over the road.
Yes, these guys do a really good coffee, if you like it strong. But they could really do with a makeover on their lackadaisical service and “too cool for skool” attitude.
Being 30 metres from my office, I frequent this place often and I don’t think I’ve ever had a bad coffee. Simple a great place to stop and chill with Sydney’s fashionistas.
Very welcoming and friendly. Very good coffee. Had a piccolo latte and an espresso, both very nice. Also excellent lunch food: I had the chicken with noodles - yummy and (I think) healthy; and they even served me a complimentary handmade choccie with my coffee -they must have known I was gonna rate them! Definitely worth a visit when you’re in the city.
