Decor is cool and interesting.

Coffee is average. Not bad, not great. There’s better along the DeGraves/Centre Pl strip

Hipster-y café tucked away in Degraves Lane. Not altogether horrible, but burnt and a bit lifeless.

After so many really good reviews I was expecting something pretty spectacular here, but the coffee I got was nothing special. Not bad by any means, but not really what I was expecting with so many strong reviews

This is a funky little cafe with amazing coffee. My double ristretto piccolo was perfect.

It’s also got super friendly, efficient service and the food looks delicious. It’s also got all the other features like being in a cool laneway and has old cinema seats for furniture.

The coffee is amazing, these guys would be offended if you ask for decaf or water (you have been warned) hands down some of the best coffee I’ve had in Melbourne although the service can be a little absent at times.

Degraves Expresso is one of the most famous, memorable and represenative of Melbourne’s cafe culture. The coffee is usually amazing. Degrave’s affagatto is hands down the best you will find in Melbourne.

A hole in the wall cafe in a railway subway with personality. Great for take-away or sitting at the bar. My “jolson” a half-filled long black was pretty good, the barista is hilariously good value.

It was Melbourne Cup Day, so perhaps their attention was elsewhere, but somehow they managed to serve me a croissant that was simultaneously stale, cold and burnt. The coffee didn’t fare much better: tepid, burnt and rather tasteless. I didn’t even fini…

The staff are pleasant and they make a good flat white. It’s sometimes busy but not crowded, and the added kiosk counter for coffee/snacks on the side makes ordering faster and easier.

Reasonable omelette and double espresso. Nothing to write home about though.

Great long black. I work round the corner, and have tried most of the cafes along DeGraves St/Centre Place. Centro is my pick to grab a good, reliably brewed takeaway coffee on the back way to the office.
