Customer service was not great. We orderd an earl grey tea and a half size thick shake. The tea was terrible, we requested another pot which the rude staff member was not happy about. On paying they tried to charge for a full size thick shake. When we questionsed it the rude man turned to his staff and said what are you doing?

Overall it took half an hour for a tea and a thick shake. Would not recommend this place.

Decent short macchiato from this city stalwart. Strong yet smooth. A point off for still using a crusty communal sugar bowl rather than readily available sugar sticks.

Worth thinking about for authentic Italian fare though.

Visited the counter to order my coffee because the table service never appeared. Double macchiato arrived in a slightly dirty glass, looking and tasting more like a piccolo latte. For a piccolo, it was decent enough.

Likely Canberra’s smallest hole-in-the-wall, Smooth Bean offers some decently made take away coffee at excellent prices. My double macchiato was just $2!

The coffee & typical café style dishes are pedestrian, with better alternatives available in nearby Garema Place. Otherwise, a nice view over the City Walk fountain and perhaps the most tranquil of Canberra Centre’s cafés.

Reasonable flat whites, the hot chocolate is sickly sweet. Open late for all your carb-hunting needs.

If this hole in the wall in the bus interchange looks a little dodgy, it’s because it is. Cheap, basic all day breakfasts and very ordinary coffee.
