Déjà Brew
very nice flavour but a little on the weak/milky side first time round, second pass wasn’t too milky but still not giving required buzz. Good when you’re trying to pace yourself :-)
Disappointing.
Hole in the wall place that will obviously live or die by the quality of its coffee. Unfortunately the long black that I had was on the watery side, served up by a grumpy dude. I don’t mind grumpy if it is backed up by a ripper of a coffee. Otherwise it just adds that tingle of annoyance.
Not much more than a hole in the wall, but the best coffee I’ve stumbled across in Canberra of late. Had a smooth, tasty doppio in the intermittent Spring sunshine.
Catering for the serious coffee lover, they put a lot of effort into making you a good brew. Had a cappuccino and is was great if not a little sweet.
Déjà Brew claims to have the best coffee in Canberra, and I’m inclined to believe them; I would consider moving my employ to be closer to this café!
I prize consistency in my coffee, and at this place I’ve been greeted by the same barista every time. He’ll also take a moment to make sure his interpretation of your order aligns with your expectation. Now that is someone who cares.
I was in a piccolo latte phase when I first encountered Déjà Brew, and was that ever lucky for me! Never before have I tasted such silky microfoam. I’ve also since returned for my usual double macchiato, and it did not disappoint.
My only gripe with this place is that it is in a part of Canberra city that doesn’t get much weekend foot traffic. Definitely closed on Sunday, perhaps also Saturday.
