Campos Coffee
These guys make unbelievable coffee. Three machines, one Slayer solely dedicated to the Single Origin (today it was something unpronounceable from Ethiopia stamped with the approval of Haile Selassi himself).
The SO double ristretto from the Slayer was a flavour experience like I’ve never had before and the double rist picc to go with it was equally sublime.
This place is only about good coffee, don’t be expecting to have a long chat or dare bringing out a laptop. There are other places for that kind of shit.
Campos deserves its reputation as a coffee mecca. My espresso was rich and syrupy, served to me by the friendly staff with an accompanying glass of water. There’s little else on the menu here besides coffee, but that alone is worth your visit. I’d like to come back to try their sparkling long black.
Coffee here is fantastic. Strong, and mellow. You can also buy take-away coffee & beans for home. This cafe is perfect for take-away on the way to work - not so good for the sit and chat as the place is tiny, and only a few tables and chairs are available.
Agreed that it is the best coffee in Sydney, although I wouldn’t go there expecting a relaxed atmosphere to enjoy a quite coffee…
Think more like, “wow coffee really is like legalised crack, and this is a major dealer of some good shit!” - i.e. people getting there hit of the good stuff.
Totally concur with Max. Excellent coffee. They deliver nationwide too…
Best. Coffee. Ever. For reals—I’d consider moving to Newtown just to be closer to Campos. The only black mark against their name is that they’re closed on Sundays :/
