Cibo Espresso
Best coffee franchise in Australia by a mile, but it’s a franchise and I fear it’s on the slide with every new store. AND what’s with $4+ for a small size strong late?! It’s outclassed by the neighboring ‘A Mothers Milk’ but all things considered I want to love Cibo because it reminds me of a time when there was just one or two stores and they knocked out a good drop.
Forgive me for reviewing a franchise-chain-store-esque coffee shop, but I must inform fellow decaf sucksters that behind this uniformed quasi-Italian cafe is rather good coffee.
Cibo Hyde Park majorly lacks in ole’ fashion good table service - patrons are given a beeper remote for order collection - and the spoilt Hyde Park toddlers - bored with endlessly cafe-ing mothers - are literally bouncing of the walls and tables.
BUT…
Their coffee is always smooth, consistent and rich in flavour!
Now an Adelade icon, Cibo Espresso can be seen at nearly every popular social hub, dining disrtict and shopping plaza. Its growing presence can allude the keen coffee connoisseur into thinking it is just another Starbucks-style infestation and from the observations noted above one would most certainly be forgiven for such an assumption.
BUT…
I stress once again, don’t dismiss the Cibo at Hyde Park. Their coffee is sure to hit the spot, no matter how it is delivered.
