Machine Laundry Café
Great little place, perfectly good coffee - but is definitely an attraction because of the atmosphere: very casual, interesting novelty concept although the inside can be considered sterile to an extent it is perfectly functional for a cold winters day when one dares not venture onto the cold outside! (that would likely add to the inside ambience) but one can enjoy the outdoor seating area upon Salamanca square and watch the hours pass away whilst sipping on your bowl of coffee!
I think the styling of the interior and it’s industrial theme ( washing machines are great novelty concept but the cafe section is a bit too industrial for my liking) is a sacrifice to warmth … That being said the atmosphere is made up by the staff and is young with a good sense of humour ( a careful peruse of the menu is recommended) speaking of the menu the meals are tasty and very substantial servings.
Although not going to win awards for the coffee it is a great place to frequent and is good value - only .50 extra for a mug/ lge and about .50 - $1 more again for a bowl of coffee! Much better price gap than any chain store!
You will either love it or hate it but it is definitely worth a visit!
Great eggs. Great vibe. My little piece of Sydney Newtown in Hobart.
A trendy café that combines café culture with a laundromat. Alas, it rather fails at the café side, though I can’t comment on the laundry side of the business I didn’t have a chance to wash any clothes when I visited. It all feels a bit gimmicky: style without substance. My breaky was decent enough but the coffee that accompanied it was awful. Plenty of better places to visit in Hobart methinks.
