Mocca Espresso Lounge
It’s just kind of all right. Their long black is drinkable and not bad enough to make you want to lie down in the street and give up. Not really any better than that though.
Mocca is one in the cluster of cafés in the new office buildings between Farrell Place and Gordon Street. It is large like Xchange, but more cafeteria-style in their food offerings. And the coffee? Not bad. My takeaway double macchiato was quite tasty, but wasn’t made with the greatest of care. To their advantage, the friendly barista did make sure to ask how much milk I liked. Still, it’s hard to go past Group Seven for coffee in this area.
In Woden, Mocca is the only decent coffee in a wasteland of mediocrity. In the City however, there are far better choices only a few metres away. If you’re eating there it’s perfectly drinkable, but if you’re seeking out a decent brew I recommend walking the extra 20 metres to Group Seven.
They were really busy and still managed to give me the best hazelnut latte I’ve tasted in Canberra thus far, and bring it to me even though it was a take away. Totally commendable
