Don Vincenzo
Eh. Went here for breakfast. Nice sitting in the sun but coffee was average when we went and food was lukewarm and uninspiring.
I’ve long avoided venturing into Don Vincenzo, put off I think by the terribly lame mob-themed logo that stands in stark contrast to the simple neon ‘Marios’ sign next door. Today though, in amongst the madness of the annual Johnston Street Spanish Food Fiesta, it looked to be a welcome respite from the hordes of hunger hipsters roaming through Fitzroy. And I was pleasantly surprised, my espresso was rich, smooth and the perfect complement to the litre or so of sangria I’d consumed in the hours preceding.
Decent enough flat white, not overpriced. Like one of the other reviewers, was nice to watch the world go by!
The coffee is probably in the average - decent range, but the location is great. I love sitting at the counter facing the street, watch the (Hipster) world go by and hack away on my laptop. Staff is friendly and coffee is fairly well priced at $3 a cup. :)
