Vella Nero
I’ve always had great coffee and friendly service from the girls at Vella - the food’s great, the coffee’s great, and I’ve always loved their stand-out-from-the-brown-crowd branding.
They’ve also been great as a venue for large meetings/gatherings, letting us book tables in their mezzanine.
Only really knocking the review down a little as they managed to make a rare bad coffee both times I’ve convinced my fiancee to try them!
My soy chai latte was fine, service was quick and the upstairs area has plenty of seating space.
Another new cafe in the mid-city area. Not totally convinced by my double ristretto piccolo. Good, but there was evidence of too many large bubbles in the foam, slightly thin mouthfeel and lack of follow through.
Decent amounts of seating, and friendly enough service. I cracked out the laptop and found it a pretty good place to work for a while. If you’re in the area, Klink is probably a better choice for coffee though.
