Joey’s Kitchen
Certainly a nice upgrade to Carlo’s, but unfortunately the coffee seems just as pedestrian as ever. While the wife’s cap tasted reasonable, my double macchiato was thin and bitter.
Food here is tasty and not unreasonably priced (but their lunch menu is a bit bread/carb intensive).
A rather nice replacement for my now defunct ex-workplace Carlo’s. My long black came in a large glass, which seems rather odd, but it was smooth and well-made. A touch light-on perhaps.
We wanted to book into Carlo’s at the Watson shops but found out they had closed and Joey’s Kitchen was the new restaurant. We wanted to find a place to celebrate and thought why not check out Joey’s. Well, we are so glad we did. Joey’s really made our night.
The ambience is great, the food is excellent - we had fresh oysters, the cod and the ravioli (which was up there with the best ravioli I’ve had and my husband makes his own fresh pasta!). the staff are friendly too. Keep up the good work Joey’s and don’t turn mediocre please.
We’ll need to go back for breakfast one day to check out the coffee…
the food is fantastic, i was suprised at how well priced the menu is. the breakfast menu is better than it was at carlos. they still have the same chef only now he has a team to back him up. im going there again tomoro night with friends just because it was so darn good. now apparently there using the same coffee machine as carlos only its been cleaned and remade so thats why the coffee is so darn fresh, they have pro coffee!!
Used to be Carlos at Watson now reopened as Joey’s Kitchen. Nice ambience, quick, well made latte, am yet to see if the breakfast menu is as good as it was!
