Visited the counter to order my coffee because the table service never appeared. Double macchiato arrived in a slightly dirty glass, looking and tasting more like a piccolo latte. For a piccolo, it was decent enough.

Likely Canberra’s smallest hole-in-the-wall, Smooth Bean offers some decently made take away coffee at excellent prices. My double macchiato was just $2!

    Hi all,

I discovered Jenny’s Kaldi Cafe (in the CPA buliding on London Circuit, that’s next to the Bendigo bank) about 6 or so months ago (I think i was on the way to or from the Civic library). Canberra can be a pretty lonley place when you’re new h…

The coffee & typical café style dishes are pedestrian, with better alternatives available in nearby Garema Place. Otherwise, a nice view over the City Walk fountain and perhaps the most tranquil of Canberra Centre’s cafés.

While some swear by Guru, I find its espresso’s to be quite ordinary.

Reasonable flat whites, the hot chocolate is sickly sweet. Open late for all your carb-hunting needs.

If this hole in the wall in the bus interchange looks a little dodgy, it’s because it is. Cheap, basic all day breakfasts and very ordinary coffee.
