I’d never been enticed into Babar due to the bland sterility that it appeared to project. However, I gave it a go this morning and was quite surprised. Warm, comfortable interior, quick table service, and a tasty short macchiato. Good and strong, clean coffee taste cutting through a small and nicely separated layer of milk.

These guys use local Ona beans, which means they also use their good value loyalty card - a free coffee after every four. Probably worth checking out if you work in the area.

Not bad, not good. The espresso I had was certainly drinkable but I’m not sure what to else say.

Canberra’s newest and most conveniently-located fish and chip shop also serves a pretty decent coffee! My double macchiato was smooth and tasty, not too much milk, and served at a drinkable temperature. The price was not too bad either, at $3. These guy…

This place attempts to be a gourmet delicatessen, a take-lunch place, and a café, and only really succeeds at one or two of these. Average coffee and below average service.

Somehow managed to make my long black look as though it had been topped with burnt microwaved milk—nonetheless it was a reasonable impression of what coffee should taste like, though nothing to write home about.

“We love coffee too!” is the declaration that dominates the chalkboard menu at this small outdoor chinese café. I’m pleased to report that you can actually believe them. They serve remarkably decent espresso at low prices ($2.50) and with friendly service.

    People weren’t too bad.
Place was disgusting last time I went there, the bed was damp underneath. Don’t you know you are supposed to air them out?
There was scum up the walls, the coffee was burnt and tasted like the machine cleaner.
    I saw rodent dro…
